Possible thesis topic

A topic that I am interested in looking into is survival in the wild with minimal supplies. The books I would like to use are Into The Wild and The Dog Stars.

    I think this topic would be really cool for you considering you like being in the outdoors, I think it would come pretty easily to you because of that. Good work Cavo

    I think this is a really good idea. You could talk about survivalism and how people react in these situations. It could also be really interesting to talk about the novel "Parable of the Sower" because it says a lot of survivalist nature.

    I love your idea to explore survival in the wild, and with both of these texts it would be interesting to consider the impact of isolation and the extent to which companionship is necessary to truly live. Jack London has also written many stories/novels that focus on men alone in the wild. You might want to look at "To Build a Fire," which is a short one that touches on a lot of the themes in both of the novels you mentioned. Jack London may have more secondary criticism. I'm excited to work on this with you!

Texts: American Gods  and The God Delusion Topic: The Evolution of Religion and the Different Forms It Takes Focus 1: This would focus on the difference between The God Delusion ´s message of the very idea of God or gods existing being a ridiculous notion and American Gods ´ message of thinking, seeing, or experiencing some aspect of our lives being a form of worship towards said aspect, making it a deity. The God Delusion ´s message stands firm in the belief that there are no higher powers, but Neil Gaiman has a different idea. For my thesis I was thinking of exploring the books/movies Forest Gump, Great Gatsby, Slumdog Millionaire or Berlin Boxing Club. I was thinking of using the theme of thriving when the odds are against you. Not sure though, any advice is more than welcome, please help.
